Managing information in a connected world

April 29th, 2009

Today’s typical employee is significantly more computer savvy than even just 2 years ago, thanks in a large part to social sites like YouTube, MySpace, Facebook and Twitter, along with Google, the premier information search engine.

Newspapers are closing as the transition to customized news over the Net becomes more available. People are turning to the Internet as their prime information source. Blogs are becoming the way of providing information and opinions. RSS feeds from companies rapidly disseminate information to the world on the company’s events and products.

Today, the majority of the working population are more than just email-capable; they are now quite computer literate. They use search engines to investigate issues and products, they commonly access retail web sites for pricing and product information, they buy over the Net and peruse and participate in forums in their search for answers and information.

As a result, they come in contact with a lot information, some of which can be very valuable to the company they work for. Equally important, they understand the benefits of connected environments and more readily accept computerization in their workplace. Read more…

The coming economy and the knowledge paradigm

February 17th, 2009

When we come out of the recession, it’s going to be a new economy and there are going to be some new ways of doing business. Look around at how social networks have already impacted on personal relationships, and you will see what is going to happen in the business world.

Already personal, small business will need to be even more so. Better customer awareness, stronger marketing ties with more frequent communication, more personalization and much more openness and responsiveness will be key elements. New partnerships driving toward economies of scale, new attitudes towards community and the environment, connecting everyone involved to the processes and new systems to help manage the flow of information and services will arise as important success factors. The Community of Change

February 15th, 2009

An organization is a community of people working together towards common goals. The organization does not act in isolation. To achieve its goals, it builds relationships by interacting with other, loosely-connected communities. Those include customers, vendors, partners, associates, friends and even competitors.

Within the organization are smaller communities - units - that, taken together, form the culture of the organization.

The new economy is relationship-based. Relationships and social interaction pervade the personal level over the Internet and they are now starting to permeate the business communities. Interaction and the ability to easily communicate among other communities, both within and outside the organization, is becoming paramount to business success. Read more…

Module lock-in

February 9th, 2009

In addition to empowering the user to define which modules they want to work with, Qasper now adds administrator control and lock-in functionality.

Qasper is a product comprised of many modules. Over 20 modules make up the Qasper Business Information Management system and, to a newcomer, this can be daunting.

So we include the ability for a user to select which modules to enable, thus reducing the number of choices and simplifying the overall use of Qasper. In fact, Qasper offers various auto-selections, depending on your requirements: beginner, intermediate, advanced, basic sales and so on. Read more…

Business Information Manager - A New World MUST HAVE

January 23rd, 2009

I watched the US President, Barack Obama rise to the occasion of his calling last Tuesday and connected many dots.  This maze of dots will spread before you now in a way that - I hope - makes sense.

You see, as a Canadian, I have watched the United States (as a third party, looking in) for a few decades rise and fall in the dream set forth by its founding Fathers.  I’ve watched greed take hold, aggression rise, and I have also seen the breathtaking awareness of the American people realize that we are all connected.  President Obama reflects that awareness.  Read more…

More on drip (multi-phase) marketing

January 15th, 2009

Here’s some information we’ve sent out:

We are now well into Beta testing of our drip (aka multi-phase) marketing campaign solution and this new element really adds another very useful dimension for SMBs, I think.

Here’s some current information on our approach - full Help files are on the way, but we have a preliminary description here:
                http://www.qasper.com/qasperhelp/qcampaigns_prelim.htm

as well.

Key features:

With our new drip marketing and campaign module, we provide scheduled, consistent, automated campaigning to the SMB market. We’ve found that drip marketing solutions for small business are few and far between, and often not integrated into the business information environment of the SMB. Read more…

Qasper - playing nice with others

January 15th, 2009

Although Qasper is certainly a business information environment, its functionality significantly extends to provide both interactive and social elements.

I’ll start by highlighting some of the ways you can interact with customers and others:

Email

Of course, customer communication is critical and Qasper provides a complete email system to interact with customers. In addition to Qasper’s built-in email system, Qasper automatically maps sent and received emails from Outlook into Qasper and directly to the customer’s contact record. Qasper then counts them into your day’s emails on your Home page for quick access.

And, of course, whenever you bring up a customer’s contact record, all the activities, including emails, are a click away, fully sortable and filterable to meet any specification. Read more…
